>  The Government has announced that rates of Stamp Duty Land Tax have been cut with effect from 23 September 2022.


>  Where a property is being purchased by first time buyers who plan to use the property as their main residence, no SDLT will be payable if the purchase price is £425,000 or less. If the purchase price is between £425,001 and £600,000, first time buyers stand to save over £8,000.


> SDLT will no longer apply to purchasers who only own one property where the purchase price is £250,000 or less.


> All purchase transactions over £250,000, whether buying a main residence or where the purchase is a second home or buy-to-let investment, will achieve an SDLT saving of £2,500.
